Our focus, as an organization, is to train not just the body but the whole person working from the inside out. Our guiding principles form the foundation of the approach of each of our members and instructors:
1. Harmony lies in balance and balance depends on understanding yourself. 2. If attacked, place yourself in a position of advantage while allowing the opponent to enter a position of disadvantage. 3. Have no ego - seek no gratification of yourself, yet seek not to humiliate yourself before others 4. Focus on action not reaction. 5. One's purpose is not to fight, but to end a confrontation by any means necessary, utilizing only enough means to end the confrontation. Never more. 6. The idea, "to win," is not recognized to have foundation except as expression of ego, therefore do discard such notion. 7. Seek not to harm others, but only to protect yourself from violation by others. 8. Exercise self-respect and respect all others at all times. 9. Do not focus on any technique, everything you learn is principle. 10. Remember that the external reflects the internal. Change the internal first, then the external will follow.
